Refreshed Hummers are here! Mil-Spec is company that takes classic Hummer’s built in the 90’s and rebuilds them from the frame up. They receive new Duramax Diesel engines, updated interiors, led lighting, modern technology mixed in, and a refinish of the exterior. This update is reminiscent of the modern touch being applied to older muscle cars of late, known as pro-touring or restomod.
Body Designs
No discrimination here. Mil-Spec will update any of the original body styles of the Hummer H1. This includes the Hardtop, which the consider standard, the wagon, and my personal favorite, the slantback.
Powertrain
These refreshed Hummers include a 500hp, Duramax 6.6L Diesel motor. The motor is accompanied with an Allison 1000 transmission. To keep it fed, a proprietary chassis mounted aluminum fuel tank holds up to 30 gallons.
Wheels and Tires
The wheels are 20×9.5″ aluminum alloy with a gun black finish. They also feature a beadlock style design. They’re wrapped with Nitto Ridge Grappler’s, 38×13.50 R20 LT’s.
Price for Refreshed Hummers
You can inquire through Mil-Spec Automotive’s website for a new custom order. Prices for a modern updated Hummer H1 from Mil-Spec Automotive will set you back $269,500, which does not include any options. It does, however, include the donor vehicle.
Existing Inventory
They also have existing inventory. This one was part of their inventory and was listed for $234,950. So there could be some cost savings if you are looking to save a bit on what is still a substantial cost.
Other Vehicles (Ford F-150)
Mil-Spec Automotive is also modifying F-150’s. They have existing inventory (at the time of this article) starting out at $85,000 and capping off at $98,600, although I’m sure those prices will fluctuate based on available inventory at a given time.
The Mil-Spec custom Ford F-150’s feature a wide-body, aftermarket front and rear bumpers. They also offer a Baja package that includes a roof rack, chase rack with tire carrier, and some off-road lighting.
